Chihuly Glass Exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Virginia

This great glass exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is by the world’s premier glass artist, Dale Chihuly. I was first introduced to Chihuly’s work when I visited the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas many years ago and saw his fantastic ceiling sculpture “Fiori Di Como” in the lobby. I’ve been a fan ever since. The exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond continues until February 10, 2013.

Dale Chihuly

I happened to go to the Borgata in Atlantic City a couple of months ago and I was totally blown away by the chandeliers that were omnipresent in this vast casino.  Yes, these chandelier are the focal point of everything that the Borgata has to offer.

The chandeliers are amazing – the twisting red and oranges shapes spiral around the chandelier and remiinded me of the hair of Medusa that would turn the body to stone.  I had seen one of Dale Chihuly’s chandelier before but never in this magnitude.  Definitely a sight to see for anyone who in interested in hand blown glass

Here is a true artisan who has changed the landscape when it comes to hand blown glass.
